  1. 1Open the downloaded Ayanna installer and follow it. macOS asks for your Mac password.
  2. 2System Settings opens at Keyboard: Input Sources › Edit… › + › Sinhala › Ayanna › Add.
  3. 3Switch with 🌐 or the menu bar. Type, then press space.

Every key, at a glance

Capitals pick the other letter: L → ළ, N → ණ, T → ඨ. You can change any of these in the keyboard.

Questions

Can I download Ayanna yet?

Yes, for Mac: download it above, no sign-up needed. The iPhone and iPad version is coming to the App Store.

How is Ayanna different?

It's made for Sinhala: suggestions from 50,000 Sinhala words that also guess your next word, swipe typing, emoji for your words, Sinhala and English in one keyboard, and spellings you can change. All of it works on your phone, without Full Access.

Does it need Full Access on iPhone?

No, never. Your own keys and the words it learns stay inside the keyboard on your phone.

Is what I type sent anywhere?

No. Ayanna turns Singlish into Sinhala on your device. It has no account and makes no network requests.

Can I still type English?

Yes. On iPhone, tap En beside ⚙ above the keys, and සිං to come back; for one English word, tap it last above the keys. On Mac, press Esc. Or switch keyboards with 🌐.

What if a spelling isn't the one I'm used to?

Make it yours: on iPhone tap ⚙ above the keys, on Mac open Ayanna Settings from the input menu. Choose a letter and add the key you want.

How do I remove Ayanna from my Mac?

In System Settings › Keyboard › Input Sources, remove Ayanna. Then in Finder choose Go › Go to Folder…, open /Library/Input Methods, and move Ayanna.app to the Trash.

Windows or Android?

Not yet. Both are planned, using the same spelling rules.

Who makes Ayanna?
